What is Sandblasting?

It is the process of using compressed air, to propel an abrasive media, at high pressure through a blast hose & nozzle, directed at the surface being treated. The effect is similar to that of using sandpaper & can easily reach into corners & small spaces. A lot of time is also saved, by eliminating the tedious task of doing it by hand.

It is effective in smoothing a rough surface or roughening a smooth surface.

It is most commonly known as a tool, for the removal of unwanted rust or paint.

Various types of media are available & all of these are used for specific applications, to achieve different surface profiles.

These include:

  • Steel grit
  • Glass beads
  • Aluminium oxide
  • Platinum slag
    …and more
